Hey guys, another fitness/ health post for you all today! So as i said in a previous post about me buying a nutribullet to try get healthier, well i haven't been using it as much as i though i would. Don't get me wrong it is a brilliant product and with the weather lately being warmer im making fresh ice lollies instead of smoothies, I'v been mixing up my fresh fruit and putting into one of the ice lolly holders you can buy for around one pound, it is a lot better than the one full of sugar! Anyway's lets get on with this post!
A few months back my mum got told about a service that Leeds City Council provide. Now you all must of heard of the Change 4 Life? The little Play Doh figures changing their fizzy drinks for better drinks?
Well there is a new service called Leeds Let's Get Active. It is a programme to encourage people to get active, most people like me don't go to the gym because it is too expensive for the membership, especially when you go one week and then give up the next because you lost all motivation. Well it is a FREE offer that lets you use the gyms and swimming pools in all of Leeds City Councils leisure centres.
I think this is a brilliant way for us to tackle the majority of the issues these days! Most people are getting really lazy, including me and this is great for people who cannot afford to pay to go to gyms or pay for equipment in their home. Now i have spoke with my friends about this and they just say well you don't need equipment, just go jog around your area for 30 minuets. But to me its not the same, i always think someone is watching me and i feel uncomfortable and the weather! it just puts me off. Where as in a gym everyone is there for the same reason, to get fit, healthy and have a better and longer life!
There is more info on the website and if you also live in leeds join the programme! http://www.leedsletsgetactive.co.uk/
It is specific times and days but, personally i have 3 different leisure centers around my area which are no more than a 5 minuet drive from my house and they are all different times and there is a lot to choose from. Anyway that is enough of me rambling on today! But if you are in the leeds area check it out!
